There are several cars coming out in 2011 that are fuel efficient and stylish. This article will try to highlight the top ones based on fuel efficiency and style. Most importantly, these cars are priced under twenty thousand per dealer and manufacturer websites. Reviews are highlighted from Edmunds.
Ford Fiesta Compact for 2011:
The Ford Fiesta can be purchased as a hatch back, wagon, or sedan. It is priced between $13,000 and $20,000. Ford modified the 2011 Fiesta to make it more competitive with the Honda Fit. The Fiesta has been refitted in the inside and now has a European flare and style on the inside. The engine is peppy and responsive. Ford claims the Fiesta gets 32 miles per gallon (MPG). Edmunds gives the Ford Fiesta an 8.3 rating for comfort, safety, style, drive-ability and price. For those that want more of a SUV look, they may consider the Kia Soul.
Kia Soul 2011:
The Kia Soul is a new star for a compact SUV in 2010 and the trend continues in 2011. It is a fun looking ride and gets 26 to 28 MPG. The Soul doesn't have the same cargo space as its competitors but its a hip city car that one could imagine delivering flowers while listening to an MP3 player (without the headphones!). The Soul has high customer ratings and Edmunds rates it at a 7.5. On the other side of the spectrum is the MINI Cooper Countryman. Its at a higher price, but still has fun, efficiency, and technology connections.
MINI Cooper Countryman for 2011:
The MINI Cooper Countryman is MINI's response to the need for a crossover vehicle. It retains its fuel efficiency and BMW style, but MINI has raised the height of the car and put all wheel drive in. Pep and style has been retained. Base models come in at about thirty thousand. Extra European styling can be bought at 40K. The MINI Countryman still has room for 5 and plenty of room for storage based on its class. Miles per gallon comes in at 36. Stability control is built in for the all wheel drive, and some models have traction control. Edmunds has not reviewed the model yet, but automobile.com has.
Ford, Kia and MINI are filling up the streets in 2011 with compact cars that are efficient, fun, reliable and safe. These three examples have good reviews for cost, safety and style. For those consumers wanting to be fuel efficient but not wanting a Hybrid; Ford, Kia and MINI may be the answer.
